Newspaper-style announcement for Queer Haven Books moving to a new location with a map and contact information.

Newspaper-style graphic text reads:

Extra! Extra! Queer Haven Books is Moving! 1219 Taylor St.

The new store will be half a block off Main Street between the Columbia Museum of Art and The Nick. Not only will we be almost tripling our square footage, the public parking garage next door and a store front window will increase our visibility and accessibility. We are excited to have more space to host larger events and create an a cozier communal space for everyone to hangout and feel safe.

We will also be upping our game with a full espresso menu (in addition to a growing selection of beer, wine, and THC drinks).

If you're not already a member, please join if you can. Every little bit helps. We received $500 over this past weekend from online orders and membership dues even though we were closed due to the shutdown and weather. Knowing we have your support makes all the difference (special shout out to Carey from Midlands SC Defensa for their work and highlighting QHB during the National Shutdown).

There are also so many other ways to help. Soon we will be posting a call for volunteers to help with the move, keep buying books and reading, join us for our many upcoming events (including our growing number of monthly events), and most importantly spread the word and invite your friends!

We can't wait to have you in our new space and have more room to hang out! We are in the process of planning our grand opening, which will include a members only event followed by a community grand opening.

March 1-3, 2026. Our grand opening in the new location will be Wednesday, March 4, 2026!

Our new address will be 1219 Taylor St, only two blocks away from our current location.

Quite simply, we need more space! The new location will triple our square footage. It also has a street-facing window, which will allow us to attract more foot traffic. We will also have room to add an espresso menu to our existing selection of beer, wine, and THC beverages.

  • Volunteer to help with the move!
  • Become a member - year round support helps offset our recent winter weather closures
  • Come to our events, continue shopping in-store and online, and tell your friends about us - even if they're not local, we ship anywhere in the US
